Sometimes it is best..
to just keep things to yourself. Although I don't twitter, I will admit that I enjoy checking in on Facebook to keep up with the near and dear's happenings and sweet pictures. Who doesn't like to see a sweet anniversary post, or a baby announcement, or simple prayer request? Lately, however, it seems that folks just share way, and I do emphasize way, to much information about their lives. You know the ones I'm talking about. I'm reminded what someone once told me, the less you say, the more interesting you become. I think I'll stick with that philosophy. Personally, Francois FeNelon said it best, The more you say, the less people remember. The fewer the words, the greater the profit.
Basically, don't abuse social media and learn to keep some things sacred.

It's the Small Things
Cody and I celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary this month. That just blows my mind. I look back on that hot, happy, August day with fond memories and warm feelings. It was such a celebration of love, family, and friends. How blessed we are to have those sweet memories.
Even then, I never anticipated the trials that we would face, but I knew that God sent Cody to me for support, strength, and a lifetime of friendship; for that I am forever grateful. On this past anniversary, I received a wonderful dinner at The Melting Pot, delicious, and beautiful flowers, but the most heart warming gift was a simple card. This card. It is funny how a simple card can be the perfect gift. What a pleasant reminder that Cody and I are quite the pair.

Back to School
The month of August has been full of classroom preparation and back to school festivities. To be honest, being a teacher is down right hard work and I am tired! Luckily, I have the best team of fourth grade teachers who are helping me get back in the swing of things. As you may know, I had the privilege of teaching sweet second graders last year and the transition back to fourth has not been, well, easy. With that said, I am blessed to be at such a wonderful school and work with some pretty, amazing people. So the moral of this post is to be thankful for good coworkers and don't overlook how truly hard teachers work.
