Happy Birthday to a Holliday;

Heather Holliday that is. One of my most favorite people is having a birthday this week. Sadly the older she gets, the older I realize I am. However, it makes me smile to know that we have still remained friends throughout the years hardships. I am grateful to have her in my life.

Heather is a hoot. She is one of a kind. For anyone who knows her, well, you know what I mean. She is talented beyond words and brightens my gloomy days. Happy Birthday to my sassy, Maid of Honor. Many more to come missy! JB

I loved this day! These pictures remind me that we always have fun no matter where we are ; )

Now let me clear my throat..

So It happened... Unfortunately, I have the first year teacher "itis". I get all the germs and sickness that my sweet kiddos bring to class. I've been using hand sanitizer likes its going out of style, yet it was still no match for the bad stuff floating around the air. So now I have the CRUD; yes, I said crud. Sunday evening was the call to my principal, which led to the Dr. visit Monday morning. (I should mention that I hate, hate, hate Dr.'s offices and they only make you sicker.. ) Anywho, I loaded up on the antibiotics, meds, and even got the "cure all" sinus cocktail shot. So nearly four days later and a still sore behind, I am sadly still fighting this junk. Boo! I really miss being able to breath out of both sides of my nose, and sleep comfortably, and have my hearing back!

Aghh.. We'll I'm feeling some relief already. I don't care if I have to step over cracks, or throw salt over my shoulder, I have to figure out a way to boost my immune system and stay well.. Any suggestions or home remedies?

Oh and when your feeling blue with stuffy nose and green goo, DJ Kool seems to make it better for a few minutes. Check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lBsZj1mhw8

Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore.

So here it is, already November! Wow! It just seems that Cody and I were eating our top tier wedding cake and celebrating our anniversary. But sadly that was three months ago. And even more sad is that it takes me being sick and confined to a couch to update my blog. Oh well, better late than never.

August-

If you didn't already know, I have taken on the challenge of teaching fourth grade.. Enough sad, right! Well, I can say that it has been the most challenging, overwhelming, and exhausting experience of my life. I eat, breathe, and dream fourth grade language arts. Luckily, I have great friends and coworkers who are in the same boat as me and I thank the lord for them everyday. Thank you teacher friends! I appreciate all your advice and support ♥

September-

September was filled with the most anticipated event of the year, College football! Oh yes, being married to a hard core sports fanatic involves being preoccupied for three to four months out of the year. Dan Mullen and his Miss State Bulldogs hold a special place in our household. (Even though Ole Miss is my Alma Mater, I can't help but love Starkville and its Dawgs. ) So we spent our Saturdays wearing our Maroon and tailgating in the Junction. It's not a bad life enjoying good food, sweet treats, and great company. I love seeing my sweet husband and family ringing their cowbells and enjoying themselves. Go State!

October-

October brought Birthday Wishes for me. Another year older, another year wiser. So now I am the Big 24. One year away from the even Bigger 25!! Anyways, I must not dwell on that right now. I hosted a Cake and Cocktails event at Bloom Salon for my birthday. It was fabulous and I thank everyone who joined me. Check it out in this months edition of Click!

Also my dear and most loving husband bought me tickets to the amazing musical, Wicked! I would just like to say that it was fantastic! I loved every second and I am still singing the songs! Popular is my favorite!

Of course, October hosts one of my favorite, spooktacular holidays, Halloween! Enough said. Check out Mrs. Bee and her Beekeeper : ) And our Sweet Jasper's Pumpkin

So there it is in a nutshell. Sorry for the lack of posts, but I promise to get better. November has many exciting events, so I will keep you posted. Enjoy the cool weather and yummy food to come! JB

Happy Anniversary to Us!

When I was a kid, I was obsessed with getting married. Weird, yes I know. I couldn’t wait to find “my groom or husband or whatever he was called. I just wanted a big white wedding, a horse and carriage, and a handsome man waiting at the end of the aisle. Well my wedding obsession was increased by 100 with the release of the movie My Best Friends Wedding. Loved it then, love it now. Anyway, I would dance around my room with a homemade bouquet singing the opening scene of the movie; which included a bride and her maids “Wishing and Hoping”. Check it out.

Well anyways, all my wishing and hoping must have worked because I found my blonde hair, blue eyed groom. A year ago tomorrow, I walked down the aisle to a very handsome man. He is a great friend, but an even better husband. When I count my blessings, I count him twice. Cody, I thank you for loving me.

So in honor of the day, here are a few pictures of the fabulous day. It was such an awesome day, and I am still hearing stories of how much fun our guests had. My ten year old self would have been proud.

Bahama Mama

Hello. First- I will start off by saying that I apologize for my lack of blogs...

Next..

It is sad to say that the summer is coming to an end. Boo. But I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed
it! One major highlight was our cruise to the Bahamas! Oh it was fabulous! (As you can imagine)
Cody and I loaded the car up and ventured across three states to Jacksonville, Florida. After twelve hours, one hotel stop, and a three hour delay to board the boat, we finally stepped on to the Carnival Fascination. Whew! Our travels were successful and we spent the next four days sailing away to paradise. Check out a few of our pics.

I say we explore a tropical country every year!

And I thought my life was hectic... Pfff!

Yea right! Life has funny ways of putting you in check...Usually when you need it the most.

The other night after dinner, Cody and I were lazily watching TV. When along comes this show on TLC (my most favorite channel) about Casey and Ethan Jones. No big deal. Well this cute as can be couple decided to have one baby and ended up with FIVE! Five babies! Aghh!

Anyway, the show went on to show their day to day activities. Cost. Lack of sleep. Stress. I'm sure you get the picture. 5 newborns, 5x the work!

It was a great show and completely warmed my heart. This family has many blessings to be thankful for. It also opened my eyes to how easy and carefree my life is. I have things pretty good right now. Something I often take for granted.

Check out The fabulous five! They will steal your heart!

Small things that make me Smile

Well I am excited to have received my very first blog award from a wonderful lady, also known as Mrs. Magnolia, Lindsey. I always enjoy reading your blogs and this is a great first award because I can share what makes me happy! Even though there are plenty more, but I'll just stick with ten.

Rules:

1.) Thank the award giver

2.) List 10 things that make you happy

10 things that are making me smile right now. : )

1. Candles

I looove Candles! I don't know when my obsession with candles started, but It is getting bad. Everywhere I go, I have to stop and check out their selection of candles.( I think its because I have a house of my own, and I don't have to worry about burning down my parents house!) Anyways my new fav is
Good Air™ Odor Eliminating Wrapped Votive Candle Sampler Votive Candle. It is only a dollar and its smells, well, Just plain clean.

2. Jasper Treats

Well one of my nearest and dearest is my puppy Jasper. He brings joy to our home and I smile to my face! I just love him. So one thing that makes me happy, is making him happy. I have found the cutest groomer/bakery in Southaven called Groomingdales. Well Groomingdales sells the cutest puppy treats ever! And they are all yummy and healthy snacks. It makes me smile to give Jasper a sweet treat.

3. Boutiques

Now that I have a free summer, I now have to time to shop! And I love to shop! (Which could count as one of my ten) However, I am over all the same ole places around here; Boutiques are now the place where to go! We actually have quite a few around the Southaven and Hernando area and they are stocked with wonderful goodies. I have to limit my visits so Cody doesn't get suspicious.. : )

4. McDonald's Snack Wraps

I am addicted! I love to stop by Mickey D's and pick up a Crispy Chicken w/ Honey Mustard dressing snack wrap. Yum, Yum. It is probably not the best thing to eat, but definitely not the worst. I highly recommend trying one.

5. Wall Clock

I finally found a clock for our living room. It is a wall applique clock with roman numerals. Its pretty cool. We added some individuality to it by adding the words, Mississippi Established 1817
(A little History lesson)

6. Twilight
Yes, it is sad to admit, but I joined the Twilight phenomenon. I read one book and got hooked.
However, I am NOT planning on biting anyone anytime soon and I am not obsessed with people of the night. Just to make that clear. But I am in love with dreamy Edward Cullen. Twilight Eclipse comes out June 30th!

7. Say Yes to the Dress

I love weddings! Even though my wedding planning days have come and passed, I still get giddy watching wedding shows. And Cody and I will be celebrating our one year anniversary very soon, so I'm having a small case of wedding fever. (Plus, I have lots of extra time to watch TV now.) Say Yes to the Dress on TLC is a fabulous show featuring the bridal store Kleinfields. Check it Out!

8. Cruise

After one hectic year, Cody and I have decided to FINALLY take some time for ourselves and head to the tropics! Yes its true. In less than a month, we will be sailing away to the Bahamas. So the thought of beaches, snorkeling, and NO Mississippi humidity makes me smile!

9. Zumba Class

Whew, that class is crazy! When I make it there, I always have a good time. It is nice to know that others are just as uncoordinated than I am. Plus there is usually some poor man, whose wife dragged him to some class, who was completely clueless as to what he would be doing. Needless to say, it can be funny. ZUMBA!!!

10. Starbucks

I loved to stop by Starbucks and get an iced coffee and a sweet treat. Yum, Yum!

Thanks again for the award Lindsey!
