Motherhood

I can not express the number of
days and hours I have spent wishing, hoping, and praying for this image. Since childhood, I have imagined myself as a mother and I never once questioned the attainability of this role. I blame naivety, but I always assumed I would easily become pregnant and have as many children as I wished, no questions asked. Wrong. As you guys know, life can through you a curve ball and teach you lessons that you never wished to be taught. Because of these experiences, my heart now has a fifth chamber that beats for all of the women, men and families who have struggled with infertility and pregnancy loss. I can honestly say that becoming a mother has, and will forever be, the greatest and most amazing triumph I will ever experience. I pray this little boy will grow to know the joy he has brought.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

What does the mother of a newborn do to save time? See answer below

She cuts her hair-short!
So long to excessive straitening and blow-drying and hello to extra time for something much more essential, coffee!

My What Good Friends You Have

The best mirror is and old friend. ( Not my words.) I couldn't agree with this statement more. I am so blessed to have a handful of friends who have stuck with me through good times and bad. Over the past two years especially, I have never valued and appreciated these people more. You don't have to remind that I can be difficult and Lord knows I have my faults, but my friends are kind of enough to see through them and allow me in their lives regardless.  What a blessing!
I believe I read somewhere that if you have a friend for more than ten years, then it is likely you will remain friends for life. I hope this is true. I couldn't imagine life without my very best friend, Rachel. She is a dear and a treat- plus she is a tad bit fierce and I can relate to that.
(I will have to post a Throwback Thursday photo soon, just to show you how way back we go. Yikes!)

With all of this said, I am simply reminding you to shower your friends with love and support. You will never know how much he/she truly appreciates you.
Disclaimer- I have several, wonderful, amazing friends, my  husband including, that hold a special place in my heart. I am simply highlighting one of them today. Please do not become unfriendly to me because you are not mentioned here. : )

Our Nest

I'm finding myself more and more grateful for my sweet home these days. Shamefully I often get caught up in planning for future upgrades and considering this one "our starter home", but recently I have become thankful, more than ever, to have a safe, loving place to raise my family. This house will be Charleston's first address and the special place where we brought him to from leaving the hospital. With this in mind, I will learn to become more appreciative of what I have, and ultimately, learn to live in the moment.

Oh My Goodness!

Forget the typical birth announcement, we opted to send Valentines instead. I love how they turned out!  One of my favorite months of the year just became even sweeter with this little hunk to share it with. (On a side note,  I think I keep Shutterfly in business, seriously.)
