Monogram Madness

I don't know if I've mentioned how much I love personalized gifts, but monogrammed goodies hold a special place in my heart. Good thing Cody and I have such talented people in our lives who do do just that- sew and customize gifts. I've tried to keep up with Mrs. Donna's creations over the past year or so, and boy am I impressed with her skills! She is definitely going to be my go to person for all of Boston's monogramming. Check out some of her work- Sewing and Monogramming

I had a suspicion that we would receive one or two special gifts from Mrs. Donna and Stacey, but I was overwhelmed with their generosity.Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of Boston's goodies. I wish I could pick a favorite, but I just can not. We are truly blessed to have you in our lives. I hope you don't mind me bragging on you ; )

Baby Bash Continued

Cody and I recently hosted a baby bash at our home. We are so thankful to celebrate the soon to be arrival of our son with our friends. I know our lives are about to turn upside down and it was nice to spend some quality time with the gang. We hope they know how much we love and appreciate them.

Thanks to all of our friends who joined in celebrating. Boston is one blessed baby to have such wonderful people in his life. (Not to mention Aunts and Uncles who give such special gifts- but that is another post)

Thirty-seven weeks down. I'm hoping Boston Bunyard makes his debut earlier than planned!

Peeking in on Pash

It's hard to believe that on August 1st, we will be celebrating Pashby's first birthday. Unbelievable! It is hard to consider the fact that a year has gone by since she first entered the world and began bringing joy and laughter to our lives. I am so grateful to be her Aunt Jess and I can not wait to see how she interacts with Boston. I know they will be the best of cousins. Hopefully Boston chooses to arrive on a date other than the first. If not, they may end up sharing a birthday! Oh goodness..

I still can't decide who she favors more- Kacey or Ashley! Either way, she is definitely one beautiful little girl.

New Beginnings

"Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end."
It seems that it was only a few months ago that I started this blog to kick off the beginning of a new journey in my life- marriage. Yet time flies when your having fun and believe it or not, but Cody and I will be celebrating our third wedding anniversary in less than a month. Wow!  Has it been three years, really?
I woke up this morning with a feeling of anxiousness and excitement similar to how I felt around the time of my wedding. They are wonderful feelings, but with them comes the sad awakening that I am shutting one door and opening another. No longer will it be newlywed days with few responsibilities. Oh no. Soon Cody and I will be well into our marriage with BIGGER responsibilities- one being our son. No longer will I be a simple fourth grade teacher, but a full-time mom and graduate student. And no longer will it be a fly by the seat of our pants lifestyle, but more well (packed) and planned decisions. Although these facts seem a little overwhelming, I couldn't be more blessed and excited. So with the end of the bridal days and beginning of motherhood, I thought I would share some pictures.

I Weigh How Much?!!

Hello folks. The Bunyards paid a visit to the baby doctor this morning. It looks like our little man is doing just fine and weighs a hefty 5 pounds and 6 ounces. So with six weeks or so left, we might just have an 8 1/2 or 9 pound baby on our hands!! Geesh! ( Assuming he gains the expected 1/2 lb a week) All is well with me as far as blood pressure goes. What is not going so well is the large amount of weight this mama has packed on. And there is more to come!!! I dread the scale. No, I despise the scale. Once Boston makes his arrival, I am heading to the gym for some major cardio sessions! I plan to be one fit lady by the time Christmas comes around- just in time for all the holiday food, great.

It Ain't Over, till It's Over

Of  course with the July 4th holiday upon us, the ever so predictable cable channels have begun playing their annual batch of patriotic movies. So when I arrived home to find Cody and Jasper viewing Independence Day, I wasn't surprised. While finishing up a little bit of school work, I decided to listen along until the end of the movie. Not long after finishing up a discussion board post about infancy and the importance of a full term pregnancy, I heard something that caught my attention. As you may recall, with cigar in mouth, Will Smith's character says repeatedly, ""It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings."

Now I have heard that phrase since childhood, but tonight my curiosity sparked and I was intrigued to find out what is the deal with a fat lady who sings. So I did some research.  Supposedly it mean this, the quotation/proverb which essentially means that one shouldn't assume the outcome of some activity until it has actually finished or something isn't finished although the event is coming to a conclusion.

Who knew the fat lady was so insightful, huh? I think I might just start incorporating this motto in my life- minus the cigar of course. So to all of the recent questions of concerns and anxieties that I may have with the approaching delivery of Boston, I just have one thing to say in response. It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings, or at least pushes out a baby.

Seven weeks to go people!  Oh and Happy Fourth of July!

A Time to be Thankful

You know, when you can't walk ten steps without gasping for air or paint your own toenails, you really become aware of the those who lend a helping hand. I feel so very grateful to have wonderful people in my life who have put up with my awful mood swings and lack of capability to do anything by myself, or so it seems.
So I would like to take a minute and send a round of thanks to a few special people who helped me get through the very busy shower weekend and everyday in general. Your willingness to lend a helpful hand does not go unnoticed and I hope you know how much I love and appreciate you.  (As I write this blog, I am totally channeling Joe Cocker and his rocker song " With a little help from my friends"   Take a listen.)

Kayla Essary
Thank you to my sweet friend Kayla, who drove up from Jackson to spend the weekend with Cody and I.  Not only did she brighten my spirits, but she helped in anyway she could, without complaint. We share a special "teacher" bond and I am thankful to have her in my life. I can not wait to see what the future holds for her. Kayla, please move closer. Jackson is just too far away!

Rachel Madden
I don't know where I would be without Rachel. Seriously. She introduced me to Cody and has given me advice that has led me to the wonderful life that I lead. Rachel, I am forever in debt to you for allowing me to tag along with you one night six or seven years ago. Who would have guessed I would have met my future husband? Aside from this, Rachel is one of the best friends I have. I envy her sense of adventure and overall good taste- except in men.. Kidding, kinda.  Haha.

Sarah Sartain

If I could pick one person that models patience and class, it would be Sarah. I don't know how she does it, but she always remains poised and gracious, despite the circumstance. Not only that, but she has a killer voice and rocking moves. Well, now that I think about it, I'm not liking her so much. Just kidding. Sarah, I hope you see all the talent and radiance that everyone else sees in you. I am very grateful that I have the opportunity to call you friend. I look forward to helping with your shower in the future.

Cody
I can't forget about my sweet husband who has been so loving throughout this journey. He never ceases to amaze me with just how giving he his. I know I have been a little hard to handle at times, but he has done a wonderful job of keeping his cool. For the last three years, he has been an amazing husband. I have no doubts that he will be the ideal dad to Boston..
