Change is Good

Hello all! Happy Spring! Doesn't it feel good to hear that? I have already been dropping hints to Cody of outside projects I am itching to get started on. Is it just me or does the backyard really take a beating during the winter?! Anyways, the BHG, magazine has tons of cheap and easy ways to spruce up the yard! ! We'll have to see what the budget is for outside decorating.. I tend to overdue it sometimes. Hey a little change is good, right?

Speaking of change, I have totally redone a spare bedroom in our home. Being that I am a Painter's daughter, decorating is in my genes. Changing paint colors in rooms was a yearly festivity in my home. Anywho, after little deliberation, I decided to pick up some Oh Sew Cute fabric, choose the perfect paint color-which is a Spring Green, and purchase some paint! A weekend and a day later, my new sewing room was complete! Check it out!

I covered the picture and ottomin with the floral fabric. And don't you just love these buttons! Not only did the room get a makeover, but the closet did as well. My super smart, engineer husband designed a pull down sewing table attached to the door. I give him an idea, and this was his vision! Genius! We also installed a few push lights and added a fresh coat of white paint. What a difference! I foresee some great sewing projects being done in that room. Here's to the many days of spring cleaning and summer projects!

If your in the neighborhood, stop by and see the new room.

Hooray for the new sewing bench! Thanks dear!

A Spoon Full of Sugar

Who says adults can't have toys.. not me! Aside from the Xbox Kinect, which I totally love, I also have a Christmas present that I FINALLY get to enjoy. Oh yes, I have broken out the cupcake maker.

It's amazing how much time you have when your not working forty hours a week.. huh? Anyways, I thought Spring Break was the perfect week to brush the dust off the cupcake maker and try it out. (It claims to make six cupcakes in ten minutes.. not to shabby)

The gist of the process is: make the batter, fill the baking cups 2/3 of the way full, close the lid and bake ten minutes. Ta da! It is that simple! And boy are they good!

Cupcake anyone?

Spring Has Sprung

Finally! Whew! I didn't think we would ever make it, but we did. Spring Break 2011 is here! Even though the week is far from over, I have already returned home from the beach. Jealous? Oh yes, the Bunyards have made trip number two to the wonderful state of Florida. (Check me out sporting the Florida orange.)

Two of our good friends exchanged vows on the sunny beach in Destin. It wasn't even a question if we would travel down for their wedding, and I must say that their timing was perfect. So Friday, after the last kiddo was on the bus home, we packed our bags and headed South. Eight LONG hours later, we arrived in the Sunshine State. Just for the record, I'm not a fan of road trips..

Now with this being my first invitation to a beach wedding, I wasn't sure what to expect. But it was such a great experience and I couldn't have picked a more perfect wedding for Eddie and Ashley. The wedding was wonderful and I wish The Privetts a lifetime of happiness!

Speaking of love, The Privetts weren't the only ones beginning their life together. One our favorite couples surprised us with the announcement of their engagement! Jaxon and Erica are now the next ones planning to tie the knot. I can not express how overjoyed I am for them. Its been a long time coming. Congrats!

Good weather, Great friends, and a lot of love-what a great way to kick of Spring Break 2011!

Lilly Whitten Turns Two!

Don't you just love that name-Lilly Whitten! Precious! Even more precious than the name is the sweet little girl behind it. Here she is!

I was honored to be invited to Lilly Whit's birthday party by my teaching buddy, Sara Whitten. I feel very blessed to have met such a wonderful person my first year of teaching. I give thanks for my "neighbor" everyday.

Anyways, I traveled down South to Senatobia to celebrate a very sweet girl's special day. It was a great time and it warmed my heart to see the Atwood's house full of smiling friends and family. Sara Whitten did a fantastic job with the decor for Lilly's "Sweets and Candy" themed birthday bash. I was very impressed!

With the lack of young ones in my family, it was soo nice to be surrounded with sweet babies. It kinda made me want one... for a minute. : n

Lilly loving her "puppy" from The Bunyards.

Love this Sweet sign!

Goodies Galore!

Loven These Cupcakes

Hello all! I hope the week is treating you well. I apologize in the lack of posts. I have been a very busy bee lately. It seems the spring cleaning and chores has started a tad bit early this year. Luckily, It hasn't been all work and no play. Cody and I took some time to check out the new, very yummy bakery up the street, L'oven Bakery. What a cute name! Not only is the name cute, but the cupcakes are delicious. You should check them out. The red velvet and cream cheese is my favorite so far.

Yum, yum! I'm an easy-to-please kind of gal-just buy me a cupcake!
