Easter Blessings

Until recently, I had never noticed something special about this picture. Something rather remarkable to be honest. Until recently, I had always admired this picture and considered it to be, well, cute. But today, I think of this picture as one of God's little reminders that he is always present in our lives. To everyone else, this picture may include two people, a street sign, and some power lines, but to me, I see a sign of faith and spirituality. I like to think that the cross pictured between us is a reminder to keep faith and Jesus Christ in our lives and marriage. I like to believe that I know a Lord who, despite our faults, is ever guiding us to be a better spouse, friend, and overall person. I like to think that this symbol reminds me how many great and wonderful people and experiences I have in my life because of my faith and trust in God. It can be very easy to feel alone, disappointed, and angry, but on this Easter Sunday, I am reminded how truly loved I am.

Matthew 6:33 -But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Our Nest

This pillow is absolutely perfect for my sweet home . I am so grateful to have a cozy place that Cody and I can call all our own.

You Made That?

Men and their tools. I will never understand it. Maybe it's like us with our shoes? Who knows? Anyway, I can't nag Cody too much. He is pretty talented with his woodwork skills. Most of the time I'm not sure what he is tinkering with out in the garage, but sometimes he seems to surprise me. Like when he comes in the house with this little happy. Check out what he made. He even helped with the chevron pattern. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't think there is anything that man can not do.

Mississippi Magazine

Definitely worthy of the coffee table . I anticipate this little treat every month and fall in love with this state a little more with each issue. I appreciate how it showcases the many talents of Mississippians. It really is uplifting and enjoyable.

Oh JT..

May I just say that if I wasn't married to my hunky husband, I would totally be Mrs. Justin Timberlake. I think my thirteen year old self would also agree.  Hehe.

Look What I Found

Just another reminder that our sweet Boston is always with us. After having a somewhat blue week, Cody and I stumbled upon this burlap. After my initial gasp of excitement, I immediately scooped it up and took home two yards. Most of you know that Boston's nursery is decorated in antique bicycles, or velocipedes, if you want to get technical, and I am always on the lookout for any small trinket that we can add to the decor. I have faith that God will bless us with a second child who will surely love these symbols and the remembrance of our son.

AT&T Nailed It..

If you were not already aware, this week is Spring Break. Hallelujah, we made it! Teachers all across Desoto County are doing anything but NOT thinking about our classrooms. If truth be told, though, the majority of us (teachers) think about our babies and hope they are having a great break as well. Lucky for me, the quirky AT&T commercials pretty much sums up what a typical response would be from one of my second grader kiddos.  After seeing this commercial repeated every ten minutes on TV, I feel like I"m back in the ole classroom. I tell ya, those babies may give me gray hair at times, but they sure are funny. Lord, the things I have heard. This is an example of a conversation that could occur on any given day. (I can totally relate to the man trying to keep a straight face.)

Smiles

If you see someone around town sporting a bright, salmon colored clutch, chances are it is probably me. I absolutely love this.

I Carry Your Heart

I think the lord created poets for many reasons, but mostly to help mend souls and fill our hearts with love, peace, and hope. I adore when I read a poem or piece of literature and it literally stops me in my tracks. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The power that a string of words can have is truly amazing.

I carry your heart with me

By E. E. Cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)

i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Who Am I Kidding?

This is why I totally could not keep the gender of our next pregnancy a secret. Twenty weeks of trying not to say boy, girl, he or she. Geesh. I don't think that is for me.  I am awful with secrets to begin with, but that pregnancy brain would definitely get me. After watching this video, it seems Jessica Simpson would agree.

Keep Calm And...

Sunday Funday

Cody and I spent our Sunday doing some good ole fashioned house cleaning and yard work. It was so nice to open the windows and let some fresh air in. I think the puppies agreed. They figured out that from this spot they could keep an eye out on what was going inside the house while also supervising Cody's landscaping skills. I'm sure the cool breeze was a plus as well. These two are a handful, but they continually keep us smiling.

Celebrating Again

Don't get overly excited just yet. Cody and I do not have any big news to share at the moment, but we are preparing ourselves, both mentally and physically, for the pregnancy of our second child- hopefully to occur in the not so distant future. During the meantime, I am so thankful to have this book and others alike that assure me it is okay to celebrate future pregnancies and to really anticipate the joys that go along with being an expectant mother.
As much as I look forward to being pregnant again, I am also dreading the overwhelming nervousness, stress, and paranoia that I am sure to experience. Expecting a child is scary enough, but after the loss of Boston, it takes it up by a million or so.
With our ongoing experience with the fertility doctors, I now, more than ever, really understand the true blessing it is to become pregnant and experience the many joys of expecting a child. It is a true gift and that is the mindset that I plan to have going forth.

Thank you lord for opening my eyes and shadowing my fears. With your guidance, I can put aside any anxieties and really celebrate every day that I have with my growing son or daughter.

Oh Pottery..

Why must you beckon me to buy you? I have a BIG itch to bring this little fellow home with me. I spotted him a while back at a local shop and now I can't stop thinking about this little darling. I just love the extra attachments you can buy for each holiday or special occasion.

I'll let you know how it goes with Cody...

Seriously...

How can you not love this face? No wonder the treat box is always empty.

TGIF

Happy Friday to you friends! Another week has come to an end and I am looking forward to a relaxing week with Cody, Jasper, and Ruby. Weekends are great, but especially after payday. Oh yea! I am ready to indulge in a coffee from Starbucks, hit up a salad from Newks, and check out the Spring Mingle happening this Sunday. Now if I can just get this yucky weather to cooperate!

Aside from having a few dollars in the bank and also celebrating the start of the weekend, here a few items that also make me smile.

I absolutely love my new, bright yellow coffee mug! Well, actually its more like a "tea" mug. I'm not a fan of homemade coffee, so I drink green tea instead. Which leads to my second favorite happy of the morning, Lipton Green Tea. This tea is the bomb. Period. My mornings are a little brighter now thanks to this dynamic duo and the added caffeine is definitely a plus.
