Sew Me Something Sweet

If you already didn't know, I have a sewing blog! Someone called it to my attention that I was keeping this from my fellow bloggers-my mistake. So here it is and I would love for you guys to follow it. I'm always finding a reason to get out my sewing machine and sew up something sassy.

I don't know nothing bout birthing no babies

But my sister and brother in law sure do. Well, they should know a few important things. These two parents to be have been going to "Baby" classes at Baptist Hospital. What are baby classes you ask? Good question. Check out the news clip from Fox 13 of Kacey and Ashley in the midst of parenting 101.

Have I mentioned the immense anticipation I am experiencing waiting on the arrival of my first niece or nephew. Only a few more weeks! Boy or Girl? Aghh, I can not wait!

That's Buble..

Michael Buble. That would be the gentleman I am standing.. Or rather WISH I was standing next to. Sadly, that is only a cardboard picture of him.

Last month I had the privilege of attending the Michael Buble concert at the FedEx Forum. Now to say that I LOVE Mr. Buble would be an understatement. I listen to him every morning during my shuttle to school. I turn up the volume loud and sing along even louder!! I'm sure you can picture this frightful scene-I have no doubts that I have entertained more than a few passersby.

Anyways, I would like to say thank you to my wonderful husband who tagged along and did not complain a single time during the Micheal Buble love fest. Plus, I couldn't think of anyone I would rather go with than my sweet hubby.

Pea in a Pod

Hello guys. I hope all is well. I apologize for the delay in postings. It has been quite a busy Summer. But more about that later. First off, I am completely overdue in a few posts. So here we go.

One of my most near and dear friends is expecting a baby! Hooray! It blows my mind to believe that we are old enough to be mothers, but I suppose that's what happens when you become older. (Is 24 old?) Geesh. Anyways, I feel so blessed that I get to share a few of the pregnancy experiences with dear, sweet friends.

With that said, I just knew I had to throw Chelsea and Baby Eli a shower. I want her to know how thankful I am to have her friendship and also how excited I am for her and Daniel. We had a great time and I can't wait to meet Baby Eli next month. I know Chelsea will be a wonderful mother to her "bug". Here are a few pictures from the Pea in a Pod shower.

Picture Perfect

Have you ever seen a picture of yourself and thought that particular photograph pretty much sums you up? You know they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, this picture is SOO me and there are no words needed. I am in my own world, as usually. I do not remember what was going on, but I'm willing to bet half of me was participating in a conversation and the other half was dazing off. That's usually how I spend my days-pondering the next book I want to read, mentally making a to-do list, and wondering what my Jasper puppy is up to. So if we happen to cross paths and I look like I'm in a trance, just please tell me to snap out of it! haha

Heaven is For Real

Oh the lazy days of Summer. I am just loving my vacation so far. If this is how it feels to be retired, well, then sign me up! Actually, I will probably be bored by the time August rolls around, so I take that back. Anyways, one of the main items on my Summer to-do list is catch up on some reading. Yes, I said reading. I am a one hundred percent book worm; proud of it. But with my recent purchase of the NOOK, which I highly recommend purchasing, I now have unlimited access to any and all books available at Barnes and Noble. com. And plus the books are cheaper. (Right now I'm reading Water for Elephants. It is amazing and I have committed to reading the book before seeing the movie.)

Moving on, so in a weird turn of events, I passed a fellow teacher in the parking lot and noticed her carrying a book that I had planned on buying and reading on the Nook-Heaven is for Real. Heard of it? Well, as the story goes, a few words were swapped about how she loved the book and how I should read it. So within minutes, I had walked off with a borrowed copy of the book.

Later that weekend I picked up the book and didn't put it down until it was finished! (Not to brag, it is quick read) This wonderful tale of a child's account of heaven is such an uplifting story. Whether it is true or not, It doesn't matter. His story left me with a awe inspiring feeling of how blessed we truly are and the wonderful things that are to come. It is even more a blessing that this book fell in my hands at a time when I really needed to hear a "good" story. God is good.

You should check it out.
